Resources, Constraints, Opportunities for efficiency
Building a Route Plan is not like finding the shortest route to go from A to B, it is rather a matter of analyzing your entire logistic problem at once and deliver a complete plan of assignments, ordered sequences and routes maximizing overall efficiency while complying with your constraints.
Define your Vehicles

  • Start Location and End Destination
  • Maximum Load Capacity
  • Driver's Working Time Window
  • Skills and Traffic conditions
Optimization goals, by importance

  • Maximize the number of serviced Locations
  • Minimize the number of Vehicles required
  • Minimize the total Driving and Idle Time
  • Balance the workload among Vehicles
Import Locations to service

  • Geocode (position on the map)
  • Time Windows
  • Load Requests
  • Skills Requirements
Deliver and Deploy your Route Plans

  • Export the optimized Sequences
  • Export the optimized Schedules
  • Print the turn-by-turn Driving Directions
  • Export routes to GPS devices (planned)
How does the VRP work?
In case of one single driving resource, the Viamente Route Planner processes your data to provide the best ordered sequence of stops and turn-by-turn directions to maximize the number of serviced Locations and minimize the total working time of your resource. The optimal sequence is also scheduled with all the expected times of arrival at each Location.

In case of several Vehicles, instead, the Viamente Route Planner computation has the goal to provide you the best assignments, the best ordered sequences and schedules and the turn-by-turn driving directions for each of your vehicles. This maximizes the number of serviced locations, minimizes the number of vehicles required and minimizes the total working time, while creating well-balanced routes for each of your driving resources.

The Viamente Route Planner is based upon proprietary algorithms designed to analyze your input, geographically refer your data on up-to-date cartography, and deliver optimized Route Plans. "Optimization" means that you will be able to service the maximum number of locations with the minimum number of resources while complying with all your logistic constraints. I'd like to build a Route Plan with a planning horizon longer than one single day. Is it possible?
No, at this time the Viamente Route Planner builds Route Plans over a planning horizon of 24 hours as a maximum.

We offer a variety of services with different durations, can the VRP help me plan and optimize the work of my professionals?
Yes, in this case you should define the time you expect your professional will spend servicing each Location. You can also point out any Skills requirements or incompatibilities. The VRP maximizes the number of Locations that your team can service, while also taking into account the driving time in different traffic conditions.
